Got this carrier after owning two other carriers. My 2 month old never really liked the moby wrap, and I found it difficult to put on and adjust for him everytime I wanted to use it. (and could not imaging taking it with me and putting it on at the mall or the store or whatever), and my husband (who is 6'4") got mad whenever I adjusted the baby bjorn to fit my frame (I am 5'9"). I also thought that the bjorn put too much pressure on my shoulders, so I was looking for a baby carrier that would be easier on the shoulders and would be fairly easy to use. My baby does not like to be put down much, so I needed to be able to get some things done around the house while at home with him. This carrier is stylish, fairly easy to use (after you figure it out) and he loves being able to look out while I am carrying. He is not yet big enough to use in the hip or back position but I am glad we will have this option when he is a bit bigger. So far I like this carrier very much and I think my husband it trying to find a way to take it from me!

I have been shopping for carriers for a long time. I tried many carriers including slings, mei tai....etc. This is is for sure the easiest to use. I can secure the baby in the carrier in less than a minute. My baby loves this as well. I always put her in it whenever she cannot sleep. I have not tried carrier my baby forward. But I think this is a good feature when baby is getting older and would like to see something other than mama's neck. I have seen babies turned their heads the entire time when they are facing inwards. This carrier can also be very compact if you fold it nicely. I can fit this in my tote easily.

With my first baby I had a moby wrap...which was great for the newborn phase, but once my baby began to gain weight it was not comfortable to use the wrap anymore, it was way too stretchy and by the time my son was 4 months old I stopped using it. When I found out I was having another baby I knew I wanted a good carrier this time so I did a lot of research and decided that the Beco Gemini was the carrier for me. I have been using my beco since my baby was about 2 weeks old, she is now 7 months (17lbs and I still use it all the time, I can wear my baby for a few hours comfortably with this carrier. The added support under the baby is wonderful and supports my baby's weight so that my back is not hurting, the straps don't hurt my shoulders, and it is easy to use (though it may look confusing at first, once you have worn it a few times its quite simple). I have worn my baby on walks, in theme parks, in the grociery store, at the mall, while mowing the lawn with my push mower, while doing housework, at the park...everywhere! I love that you can use this carrier in all the different positions, I have used all but the backpack position. My favorites are the hip carry and the basic inward facing carry, my baby prefers the outward facing or the hip carry unless she wants to sleep, then she likes to face inward. I don't find the outward facing position to be very comfortable (and I don't think it looks very comfortable for my baby, but she is happy because she can see everything) so I only use it for short periods of time. I am sure we will be enjoying this carrier for a long time, I am very glad I did my research and will recommend this carrier to everyone I know who is looking for a good baby carrier!

(I have also used a baby bjorn which I hated and I have a homemade sling that I use when I wont need my baby to be in the carrier for too long.)
